Punica granatum 'Angel Red'
Angel Red is a pomegranate grown for its soft-seeded, very juicy red fruit that ripens earlier than many other kinds. Bright orange-red summer flowers and glossy leaves make it as ornamental as it is productive, and it thrives in North Texas heat.
- Full sun
- Orange-red flowers; soft-seeded red fruit in early fall
- Grows about 10–12 ft tall and wide
- Self-fruitful; drought tolerant once established
Care: Water deeply every week or two in summer for best fruit. Prune lightly in late winter to shape as a shrub or small tree. Hardy in North Texas; young plants may need protection in hard freezes.
