Chuparosa is a desert-native shrub from the Southwest and northern Mexico, named for the hummingbirds that visit it constantly. From late winter into spring it carries tubular red, orange or occasionally yellow flowers on soft gray-green stems. It usually reaches about 3 to 5 feet in both height and spread and is a natural pick for xeriscapes and native gardens.
