Ageratina havanensis
A Texas native shrub that bursts into fluffy clusters of fragrant white to pale pink flowers in fall, when many other plants are finished. Butterflies, especially migrating monarchs, flock to it, making it a great choice for pollinator gardens and dry, sunny beds.
- Full sun to part shade
- Sweet-scented fall flowers for butterflies
- Grows about 3–5 ft tall and wide
Care: Very drought tolerant once established; water occasionally in long dry spells and give it good drainage. Cut back by about a third in late winter; it may die back in a hard freeze but usually regrows in spring.
