Delosperma cooperi
Hardy ice plant forms a low mat of fleshy leaves covered with glossy magenta daisy-like flowers in summer. It is useful for rock gardens, slopes and edges where the soil drains fast.
- Full sun
- Succulent, drought tolerant groundcover
- Grows about 3–6 in. tall, spreading 1–2 ft
Care: Good drainage is essential; it rots in wet clay. Water sparingly and it will handle typical DFW winters.
