Pyrus communis and hybrid cultivars
Fruiting pear trees with white spring blossoms and late-summer fruit for fresh eating, canning and preserves. These varieties have good fire blight resistance for Texas.
- Full sun
- White spring flowers and summer fruit
- Grows about 15–25 ft tall
- Varieties: Kieffer, Orient, Moonglow, Seckel
Care: Water deeply during dry spells and prune lightly in winter. Plant two varieties for better fruit set; hardy in North Texas.
