Schizachyrium scoparium 'The Blues'
A selection of our native little bluestem with upright, powder-blue foliage that turns copper, burgundy and orange in fall and holds color through winter. Great for native gardens, borders and pollinator plantings.
- Full sun
- Native, very drought tolerant
- Grows about 2–3 ft tall and 1–2 ft wide
Care: Prefers lean, well-drained soil; too much water or fertilizer makes it flop. Cut back to a few inches above the ground in late winter before new growth starts.
