Acer buergerianum
A tough, medium-sized maple with glossy three-lobed leaves and orange to red fall color. It handles heat and compact soil better than most maples, making it a good shade or street tree for North Texas.
- Full sun to part shade
- Heat tolerant with good fall color
- Grows about 20–30 ft tall and wide
Care: Water deeply during the first few summers, then during dry spells. Prune in winter to shape; hardy in North Texas.
