Malvaviscus arboreus var. drummondii
Turk's cap is a Texas native with red, swirled flowers that never fully open, beloved by hummingbirds. It thrives in shade where few bloomers will, and is great for woodland edges and wildlife gardens.

- Native, blooms summer to fall
- Grows about 3–5 ft tall and wide
Care: Drought tolerant once established. It dies back in winter; cut it down in late winter and it regrows vigorously.
