Asclepias asperula
Antelope horns is a Texas native milkweed with round clusters of pale green flowers touched with purple in spring, followed by curved seed pods that give it its name. It is a key host plant for monarch caterpillars and a great fit for pollinator and native gardens.
- Full sun
- Native monarch host plant
- Grows about 1–2 ft tall and wide
- Very drought tolerant once established
Care: Plant in well-drained soil and avoid overwatering; it dislikes being moved once rooted. Dies back in winter and returns in spring. Fully cold hardy in North Texas.
