Aucuba japonica cultivars
Aucuba is a glossy evergreen shrub that brings bright leaves to shady spots where little else grows well. These selections include compact green forms, narrow-leaved and speckled types, and berry-producing Rozannie.
- Part shade to full shade
- Glossy evergreen foliage, some with gold speckles
- Grows about 3–6 ft tall, depending on variety
- Varieties: Rozannie, Hosoba Hoshifu, Green Dwarf, Marmorata
Care: Protect from afternoon sun, which scorches the leaves. Keep evenly moist; hardy in North Texas and needs little pruning.
