Agave americana
Century Plant is the giant of the agave family, with long, pointed blue-green leaves that seem to rise right out of the ground. It grows faster than many desert plants and forms thick clusters of pups around the base. Native to Texas, it handles intense heat and also stands up to cold, making it a bold anchor for large desert beds.
- Heat loving and cold hardy
- Low water once established
- Big, dramatic shape for open spaces
