Ipomoea batatas
An ornamental trailing plant with heart-shaped or lobed leaves in chartreuse, purple-black or bronze. It spills over pots and baskets and makes a quick, colorful ground cover in summer beds.
- Full sun to part shade
- Fast-growing trailing habit
- Grows about 6–12 in tall, spreading 3–6 ft
Care: Water regularly in heat, especially in containers. Trim to control spread. Not frost hardy; treat as a warm-season annual.
