Polystichum munitum
Sword Fern is a tough evergreen fern with upright, leathery dark green fronds shaped like slender blades. Western types grow naturally in shady Pacific Northwest forests and form thick clumps, with fronds that can stretch 2 to 5 feet and arch outward. It brings strong, steady greenery to shady beds and woodland-style yards.
