Brunfelsia pauciflora
A shrub whose fragrant flowers open purple, fade to lavender, then white, so all three colors show at once. It adds spring color to shaded patios and beds. All parts are toxic if eaten.
- Part shade
- Three-color fragrant flowers
- Grows about 3–5 ft tall
Care: Regular water in rich, well-drained soil. Not reliably hardy in DFW; suits containers or a sheltered spot with winter protection.
